Philosophy

The athletic program at St. Paul’s Lutheran School exists to give our students another opportunity to honor their Lord and Savior as they learn and practice important values and principles of life such as team work, competition, discipline, and hard work. It also develops the overall athleticism of children as they learn the basic fundamentals of their given sports.

We also teach our student athletes about priorities in life, and in keeping them in this order: God, family, school, and then athletics.

Honoring God through studying His Word, through regular worship attendance, and through serving Him through what we say and do is our first priority. We honor and obey our parents and commit ourselves to family only second to God. Education is our third priority, and doing our best in school. If we keep the first three priorities to the best of our ability, we can rightly commit time and energy to our athletic growth through our team play on our St. Paul’s athletic teams.

Athletic Association / Coaching

St. Paul’s Lutheran School participates in the Lutheran School Athletic Association (LSAA) which has a membership of approximately sixteen Lutheran Schools from three counties in Northeastern Indiana. We compete with these Lutheran schools in an atmosphere of Christian fellowship and sportsmanship. We appreciate the hard work of parents and teachers throughout the various sports seasons who generously volunteer their time and talents to provide coaching and mentoring for our children.

Parents who have an interest in coaching a particular sport may contact the athletic director, Andy Whirrett, for information on how to get involved!
