Mr. Doug Schwartz, Principal
Mr. Schwartz served in the United States Air Force for over 34 years, retiring in 2016.  During his Air Force career he had extensive experience as a pilot, instructor and senior leader.  His history, connection and passion for St.Paul’s and our Lutheran community is unparalleled.  He is a 1970 graduate of St. Paul’s, a 1974 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School and an active member of St.Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Mr. Schwartz has served as Chairman of the Voter’s Assembly, St. Paul’s School Board Member (Chairman), school renovation committee member/leader, as well as spear-headed various church and community fundraising and service efforts (including St. Paul’s current East Central Neighborhood project, now in it’s third year).  He received a Master of Business Administration from Gonzaga University, a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University

Mrs. Megan Keefer

Assistant Principal; Director of Development

Mrs. Megan Keefer, Assistant Principal. Mrs. Keefer graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Concordia University, Chicago with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education. She holds endorsements in Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies.  She holds Indiana (K-6) and Illinois (K-9) teaching licenses.  She has a strong teaching philosophy based around Gardner’s multiple intelligences. She loves to spend time outside with her husband and two daughters.

Mr. Andy Whirrett

8th Grade Homeroom; History; Athletic Director

Mr. Andy Whirrett, 8th Grade Homeroom; Athletic Director. Mr. Whirrett has a B.S. Education and a Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma (2001) from Concordia University, Nebraska, and an M.Ed/Elementary Administration (2005) from Concordia University, Nebraska. He holds current Indiana (K-8) and Nebraska (K-8) teaching licenses. Mr. Whirrett enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Mr. Whirrett enjoys traveling, U.S. History and politics, geography, playing ultimate frisbee, playing and coaching basketball, and the Indianapolis Colts. Because Mr. Whirrett is an avid Colts fan, on Sunday afternoons in the fall you will either find him in his Colts room watching the game, or in his seat at Lucas Oil Stadium for the home games.

Mr. Barry Mezger

7th Grade Homeroom; Science

Mr. Barry Mezger, 7th Grade Homeroom; Science. Mr. Mezger is a 2014 graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Middle School Education, with concentrations in Math and Science.  Mr. Mezger has taught middle school math/science in the FWCS system and has brought great skills to our program.  He has strong connections to St. Paul’s personally and through his wife and children who attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

Mrs. Michelle Kuehnert

6th Grade Homeroom; Math and Technology

Mrs. Michelle Kuehnert, 6th Grade Homeroom; Math/Technology. Mrs. Kuehnert holds professionalized Indiana teaching licenses in Middle School/Junior High Mathematics and Social Studies as well as a K-12 Building Level Administrator license.  Mrs. Kuehnert’s education is deep-rooted in the Fort Wayne area earning both her Bachelors (`06) and Masters (`11) degrees from Indiana University – Fort Wayne.  Mrs. Kuehnert is also a 2002 alumni of Concordia Lutheran High School and a 1998 graduate of Concordia Lutheran Grade School.  Prior to becoming a member at St. Paul’s, Mrs. Kuehnert was a lifelong member at Ascension Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.  Mrs. Kuehnert and her husband, Mark (CLHS `04), were married at St. Paul’s.  The Kuehnert’s are both ingrained in the Lutheran community in Fort Wayne, as faithful servants of God witnessing His grace and mercy through teaching and firefighting.

Mrs. Jovita Nack

5th Grade Homeroom

Mrs. Jovita Nack, 5th Grade Homeroom. Mrs. Nack has a B.A. Education (’92) from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and an M.Ed (’05) from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She holds current Nebraska and Indiana K-6 licenses.  Mrs. Nack has served in the Lutheran Church/School for over 25 years.  She began teaching at St. Paul’s in Fall 2011.  She was born and raised on a farm near Williamsburg, Iowa, and currently resides in Auburn, Indiana, with her Husband, Jon.  She has two children. Mrs. Nack’s hobbies include singing in the church choir and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Ann Fritz

4th Grade Homeroom; Music

Mrs. Ann Fritz, 4th Grade Homeroom; Music. Mrs. Ann Fritz has a B.A. in Education (1981) from Concordia University, Chicago, and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (1998) from Indiana Wesleyan, Marion, Indiana. She holds a current Indiana teaching license for grades K-8. Mrs. Fritz has served as a teacher, church organist, choir director, and kantor in Lutheran schools in the Fort Wayne area; in Queens, New York; and in Cincinnati, Ohio. The last half of her career she has been a teacher and Associate Kantor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School. She was born in Napoleon, Ohio, and was inspired to teach because of the loving Christian teaching she received at St. Paul Napoleon. Mrs. Fritz resides in Fort Wayne with her husband Scott. Her three adult children all attended St. Paul’s, Concordia Lutheran High School, and Indiana University. Mrs. Fritz’s hobbies include cooking, baking, gardening, travel, reading, knitting, and spending time with family.

Mrs. Megan Koenemann

2nd Grade Homeroom

Mrs. Megan Koenemann, 2nd Grade Homeroom. Mrs. Koenemann graduated from Ball State University in 2011 with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education with a concentration is State/World Connections. Mrs. Koenemann is a St. Paul’s graduate. She has been baptized, confirmed and married here at St. Paul’s. She loves spending time with her husband and two children. Her hobbies include golfing, baking and watching documentaries.

Mrs. Madeline Sheafer

1st Grade Homeroom

Mrs. Madeline Sheafer, 1st Grade Homeroom. Mrs. Sheafer holds a B.A. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a Lutheran Teacher’s diploma. She serves as our Curriculum Director. She is married to her husband, Daniel and resides in Fort Wayne. She enjoys spending time outside, reading, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Sue German

Kindergarten Homeroom

Mrs. Sue German, Kindergarten Homeroom. Mrs. German has a B.A. in Education with an emphasis in church music from Concordia University in Seward, NE.  She holds a current Indiana elementary teaching license.  Mrs. German has taught for over 20 years in Lutheran schools in Ohio and Indiana.  Mrs. German grew up south of Fort Wayne in the rural Decatur area.  She and her husband, Mark, have 5 children and several grandchildren.  Mrs. German enjoys singing in choirs, reading, cooking, baking, and traveling to see her children and grandchildren!

Mrs. Susan Ferking

Middle School Language Arts

Mrs. Frerking earned her B.A. from the University of Western Ontario (1990), earned additional certifications from the Universities of Windsor and Toronto (1991), earned a Masters degree in Int’l Teaching from Framingham State University (1995), and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Frerking has quite an extensive teaching and instructional coaching resume nationally and internationally, having taught in Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong, Shanghai (China), Hanoi (Vietnam), and most recently as teacher/instructional coach in a couple of our local Lutheran schools (St. Peter’s and Holy Cross). She moved here four years ago with her husband, Patrick (Principal of CLHS) and family.

Mrs. Renee Marinko, Title I. Mrs. Marinko graduated from Concordia University Chicago in 1986 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  In 1988, she received her Master’s Degree from Indiana University in Elementary Education with a Reading endorsement.  She has taught in Lutheran schools in Connecticut, California and most recently, St. Paul’s Lutheran School after taking time to stay home with her four children.  She is currently the Title I Teacher at St. Paul’s, having taught lower grade art and 4th grade math and science previously.

Mrs. Stephanie Mueller

Early Childhood Director

Mrs. Stephanie Mueller, Early Childhood Director. Mrs. Mueller has a B.A. Education, with a Lutheran Teachers Certificate and a Concentration in Art, (’90) from Concordia University, Seward, NE. She currently holds an Indiana Teaching license for grades 1-8, with a Kindergarten endorsement. She has been at St. Paul’s for the past several years and loves working with her students and their families in the PreK setting. She was born in Oxnard, California, grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and currently resides in Fort Wayne with her husband, Craig, and their four children. Stephanie’s hobbies include a variety of arts and crafts, gardening, walking, and spending time with her family and their various activities!

Mrs. Julie Trainer

Cafeteria Manager

Mrs. Julie Trainer, Cafeteria Manager. Mrs. Trainer keeps our children well fed and nourished at St. Paul’s Lutheran School!  A life long native of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Trainer attended Zion Lutheran School, Concordia Lutheran High School and secretarial classes at D.G.T.S., a division of Indiana University.  Mrs. Trainer has been the Cafeteria Manager at St. Paul’s for over 20 years.  Her hobbies include reading, jigsaw puzzles, long walks with pets and friends.  She is married and has two children.

Mrs. Stacey King

Mrs. Stacey King, Bear Tracks Director. Mrs. King is the Director of our extended care program, Bear Tracks and she assists in the cafeteria

Mr. Todd Phillips

Band Instructor

Mr. Todd Phillips, Band Instructor. Mr. Phillips is part of the music program at St. Paul’s!  Mr. Phillips grew up in NE Indiana, received his BS in Music Education from IPFW and a Master of Arts in Music from Ball State University.  He has been teaching music to students of all ages for over 25 years!  Mr. Phillips has been playing musical instruments since he was a child and he enjoys sharing his love of music!  Along with teaching music, Mr. Phillips also arranges and compose musical pieces for various groups and is a freelance musician (playing trumpet, keyboard and trombone).

Mr. Kevin Hildebrand

Youth Choir Director

Mr. Kevin Hildebrand, Youth Choir Director. Mr. Hildebrand is a graduate of Concordia University, River Forest, and has master’s degrees in music and theology from The University of Michigan and Concordia Theological Seminary, respectively. Kantor Hildebrand’s full time work is at Concordia Theological Seminary, and is privileged to serve as Associate Kantor and Youth Choir Director at St. Paul’s. Prior to moving to Fort Wayne, Kantor Hildebrand was a Lutheran school teacher and church musician for seven years in the Detroit area. A Michigan native, he grew up on a farm and enjoys music, gardening, home improvement, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
