2015 Staff Principal Paul Marinko pmarinko@stpaulsfw.org Mr. Marinko has a B.A. Education (’86) from Concordia University, Chicago, and an M.Ed./Supervision of Instruction (’94) from the University of North Texas, Denton, TX. He holds current Indiana (K-8), and Texas (K-8), teaching licenses, as well as an Indiana K-12 Building Level Administrator’s License. Mr. Marinko has served in the Lutheran Church/Schools for 24 years, having served 13 of those years at St. Paul’s. He was born in Cleveland, OH, grew up in Indianapolis, IN, and currently resides in Ft. Wayne with his wife, Renee, and their four children. Mr. Marinko’s hobbies/interests include traveling/camping with family, reading, writing, managing personal investments, and encouraging others to tap into their creative gifts/abilities.

Mrs. Stephanie Mueller has a B.A. Education, with a Lutheran Teachers Certificate and a Concentration in Art, ('90) from Concordia University, Seward, NE. She currently holds an Indiana Teaching license for grades1-8, with a Kindergarten endorsement. Mrs. Mueller taught in the Lutheran schools for seven (7) years full-time before starting their family, and then part-time again since 2006 in a preschool setting, art classes and fourth grade. She has been at St. Paul's for the past eight (8) years and loves working with her students and their families in the PreK setting. She was born in Oxnard, California, grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and currently resides in Fort Wayne with her husband, Craig, and their four children. Stephanie's hobbies include a variety of arts and crafts, gardening, walking, and spending time with her family and their various activities!

 

2015 Staff Sue German sgerman@stpaulsfw.org Mrs. German has a B.A. in Education with an emphasis in church music from Concordia University in Seward, NE.  She holds a current Indiana elementary teaching license.  Mrs. German has taught for 19 years with 17 of those years in Lutheran schools in Ohio and Indiana.  German grew up south of Fort Wayne in the rural Decatur area.  She and her husband, Mark, have 5 children and 6 grandchildren.  Mrs. German enjoys singing in choirs, reading, cooking, baking, and traveling to see her children and grandchildren!

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Megan Keefer to 1st grade this year!  Although this is her first year teaching 1st grade, we were blessed to have her on staff last school year teaching 4th grade afternoons, helping in Kindergarten and teaching lower grade Art.  Mrs. Keefer graduated from Concordia University, Chicago with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education with endorsments in Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies.  She hold Indiana (K-6) and Illinois (K-9) teaching licenses.  She has a strong teaching philosophy based around Gardner's multiple intelligences.  Megan was born in Woodburn, Indiana and is excited to be serving the students, families and staff at St. Paul's.  She is recently married to her husband, Pat.  Her hobbies include golfing with her family, watching football games, reading, participating in and teaching dance, cooking and traveling.

Barb Weitfeldt 2016bwietfeldt@stpaulsfw.org Mrs. Barb Wietfeldt is such a blessing to St. Paul's as an aide in the lower grades!  She graduated from IPFW with a BS/MS in Elementary Education and taught Kindergarten/First Grade for FWCS, retiring in 2012.  She and her husband Dan have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.  Mrs. Wietfeldt enjoys reading, traveling, watching sporting events, and gettign together with family.

Mrs. Jennifer Krieg just recently joined the St. Paul's faculty and has been such a blessing!  Having taught elementary/middle school for 10 years, most recently 3rd grade at an international school in Vilnius, Lithuania, Mrs. Krieg brings some unique experience to our staff.  Mrs. Krieg was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and received a BS degree in Elementary Education from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. Mrs. Krieg holds Texas State Certifications for Elementary-Self Contained (gr. 1-8), Mathmatics (gr. 1-8), and Reading (gr. 1-8) and is certified in Indiana as a Highly Qualified Elementary Generalist (gr. K-6). Mrs. Krieg began her teaching career in Dallas, Texas.  After a year she moved south to Austin, Texas before moving overseas to teach in Sanad Bahrain (a small island off the coast of Saudi Arabia).  Mrs. Krieg is married and has three young children.  

 

Ann Fritz 2015 16 photoafritz@stpaulsfw.org Mrs. Ann Fritz has a B.A. Education (1981) from Concordia University, Chicago, and a M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction (1998) from Indiana Wesleyan, Marion, Indiana. She holds a current Indiana teaching license for grades K-8. Mrs. Fritz has served in Lutheran schools in Indiana; Queens, New York; and Cincinnati over the past 30 years, having served 15 years at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. She was born in Napoleon, Ohio, and currently resides in Fort Wayne with her husband Scott, son Christian (who is away at IU most of the year), and daughter Margaret, a senior at CLHS. Her oldest daughter Abby is married to Ben Brass and lives in the Chicago area. Mrs. Fritz’s hobbies include cooking/baking, gardening, travel, reading, and anticipating the joys of being a grandmother!

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Annie Blanken to 4th grade this year!  Mrs. Blanken is a synodically trained teacher with a B.A. Music and Teaching Degree (2010) from Concordia University, NE.  She has served in various teaching capacitites at Gloria Dei Lutheran Academy in Davie, FL, including K-8 Music, middle school computers, and PE, middle school band and 1st grade homeroom teacher.  She currently holds a Florida K-6 Teaching Certificate for Elementary Education, as well as a K-12 Certificate for Music Education.  Mrs. Blanken will serve in both the 4th grade classroom (afternoons) and also as a lower grade aide.   Mrs. Blanken recently moved to Fort Wayne with her husband, Alex and they are expecting their first baby this fall.

St. Paul’s welcomes Mrs. Sue Johnson to our faculty as K-4 Art Teacher!  Mrs. Johnson has her B.S. Ed. Degree from Valparaiso University. She has served as Teacher in Lutheran Schools for the past 33 years in Fort Wayne, Indiana, St. Louis, Missouri, Boca Raton, Florida, Davenport, Iowa. Although retired from full-time teaching, Mrs. Johnson is excited to serve as the St. Paul’s Lower Grade Art Teacher this year.  Welcome Mrs. Johnson!

2015 Staff Jovita Nack  jnack@stpaulsfw.org Mrs. Nack has a B.A. Education (’92) from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and an M.Ed (’05) from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She holds current Nebraska and Indiana K-6 licenses.  Mrs. Nack has served in the Lutheran Church/School for 23 years.  She began teaching at St. Paul’s in Fall 2011.  She was born and raised on a farm near Williamsburg, Iowa, and currently resides in Auburn, Indiana, with her Husband, Jon, and their two children.  Mrs. Nack’s hobbies include singing in the church choir and spending time with her family.

 Mannigel Adrianne 119Mrs. Adrianne Mannigel has a B.S. in Secondary Education (2008) from Indiana University, Fort Wayne.  She holds a current Indiana teaching license for grades 6-12. Mrs. Mannigel is an alumnus of St. Paul’s FW and Concordia Lutheran High School. She has faithfully taught at St. Paul’s for the past four years, and served as cheerleading coach for the past two years. She is married to Tim, a teacher and coach at Concordia Lutheran High School and has one child, AidanMrs. Mannigel’s hobbies include; reading, spending time with family, and traveling.

The Rev. Peter C. Cage has a B.S.in Economics ('85) from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, a M.Div. ('91) and M. Sacred Theology ('01) from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne IN. He has served as a parish pastor for 22 years (including as a campus pastor at Ball State University, Muncie IN, and as a military chaplain in the Army National Guard) having served at St. Paul's since 2007.  He was born in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and grew up in Rolling Meadows, IL. He currently resides in Fort Wayne, IN with his wife Patty and their five children. Pastor Cage's hobbies include reading, snacking and following his children to their extra-curricular activities.

We welcome Mrs. Sue Sipes as our new 7th grade teacher for the 2016-17 school year!  Mrs. Sipes has a B.S.Ed. (1978) from Valparaiso Univeristy and a M.S.Ed. (1982) from Indiana University, Fort Wayne.  She holds a current Indiana Teaching License with an Endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education (Indiana, 1985).  She has held various teaching and coaching positions in Lutheran Schools since 1979, most recently teaching middle school Science, Health, English, Math (Pre-Algebra), and Literature.  We are blessed to add Mrs. Sipes to our faculty this year!

Mr. Whirrett has a B.S. Education and a Lutheran Teacher's Diploma (2001) from Concordia University, Nebraska, and an M.Ed/Elementary Administration (2005) from Concordia University, Nebraska. He holds current Indiana (K-8) and Nebraska (K-8) teaching licenses. Mr. Whirrett has served as a teacher in Lutheran Schools for 10 years, with the last two of those years at St. Paul's. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and currently lives in Grabill with his wife Kristen. Mr. Whirrett enjoys traveling, U.S. History and politics, geography, playing ultimate frisbee, playing and coaching basketball, and the Indianapolis Colts. Because Mr. Whirrett is an avid Colts fan, on Sunday afternoons in the fall you will either find him in his Colts room watching the game, or in his seat at Lucas Oil Stadium for the home games.

St. Paul's welcomes author and illustrator Joni Walker to the staff this year!  Ms. Walker grew up in rural Indiana and graduated from John Herron School of Art in 1985 with a BFA in Visual Communications. During her time in college, she became interested in children's book illustrating. She is an author and illustrator of many children's books published by Concordia Publishing House.

Before Joni was an author and illustrator she worked as a freelance artist.  Joni teaches art to children and adults ranging from ages 5-90 and paints murals for Elementary Schools and businesses. She draws nearly everyday and works at developing her own unique characters. Joni has three children and lives in rural Whitley County, Indiana.  Her little dogs, Artie and Maisy are often the subject of her work.  

Her books include the Follow and Do series and several board books such as Jesus Loves Me and Tell Me What God Made. Some of the things she loves about being an author and illustrator are visiting schools and showing children how fun drawing and writing can be and also getting up each morning, feeling blessed to have the opportunity to do what she loves.  We are so excited to have Joni share her God-given talents with the students of St. Paul's!

Mrs. Renee Marinko graduated from Concordia University Chicago in 1986 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  In 1988, she received her Master's Degree from Indiana University in Elementary Education with a Reading endorsement.  She has taught in Lutheran schools in Connecticut, California and most recently, St. Paul's Lutheran School after taking time to stay home with her four children.  She is currently the Title I Teacher at St. Paul's, having taught lower grade art and 4th grade math and science previously.  She enjoys working as a team on the same staff as her husband, Paul, and also loves family time, traveling,baking, music (signing and organ) and the outdoors!

Kevin Hildebrand is a graduate of Concordia University, River Forest, and has master's degrees in music and theology from The University of Michigan and Concordia Theological Seminary, respectively. Kantor Hildebrand's full time work is at Concordia Theological Seminary, and is privileged to serve as Associate Kantor and Youth Choir Director at St. Paul's. Prior to moving to Fort Wayne, Kantor Hildebrand was a Lutheran school teacher and church musician for seven years in the Detroit area. A Michigan native, he grew up on a farm and enjoys music, gardening, home improvement, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.

 

We are blessed to have Mr. Ervan Orban instructing our strings program at St. Paul's  All of our second graders are introduced to the violin by Mr. Orban in the fall and grades 2-8 have the opportunity to continue strings instruction with him.

Mr. Todd Phillips is part of the music program at St. Paul's!  Mr. Phillips grew up in NE Indiana, received his BS in Music Education from IPFW and a Master of Arts in Music from Ball State University.  He has been teaching music to students of all ages for over 24 years!  Mr. Phillips has been playing musical instruments since he was a child and he enjoys sharing his love of music!  Along with teaching music, Mr. Phillips also arranges and compose musical pieces for variuos groups and is a freelance musician (playing trumpet, keyboard and trombone).

As a lifelong membr of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a graduate of the school, Mrs. Carla Kleinschmidt is honored to serve as the Admission Counselor, a position she has held since 2012.  She and her husband Steve have two grown children, both graduates of St. Paul's and teachers in Fort Wayne, and also three grandchildren.  It is her responsibility to share with prospective families why St. Paul's is the best Lutheran school to assist with their children's academic and spiritual growth.  She is thrilled to share the St. Paul's story and all it has to offer students and families.

Mr. Randy Bledsoe oversees the health and safety at our school campus.  He is often seen walking the campus grounds or on Barr Street as the crossing guard!  We are very blessed to have Mr. Bledsoe help keep our students, staff and families safe.

Mrs. Julie Trainer keeps our children well fed and nourished at St. Paul's Lutheran School!  A life long native of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Trainer attended Zion Lutheran School, Concordia Lutheran High School and secretarial classes at D.G.T.S., a division of Indiana University.  Mrs. Trainer has been the Cafeteria Manager at St. Paul's for 19 years.  Her hobbies include reading, jigsaw puzzles, long walks with pets and friends.  She is married and has two children.

We recently welcomed Mrs. Lilly Lahey as our church secretary!  Mrs. Lahey has a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Telecommunications from Indiana University.  She has served in Lutheran congregations for over seven years as an administrative assistant.  She was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Zanesville, Indiana.  Lilly resides in Churubusco with her husband Brent and two daughters, Lydia and Sophie.  Her interests include spending as much time as possible with family, traveling, reading, playing cards and rollerblading.
